Federer and Nadal were at Switzerland to hold a couple of exhibition matches. Nadal was picked up by Federer himself at the airport runway in his 200,000 dollar toy.

The new Porsche 918 RSR is based on concept cars 911 GT3 R and 918 Spyder.

The show car is finished in “liquid metal chrome blue” paint, combined with the orange that Porsche has adopted as its hybrid identifier, while the number 22 it wears is a reference to the 1971 Le Mans winning 917 of Helmut Marko and Gijs van Lennep. That car used experimental technology (including a magnesium spaceframe chassis) to set a Le Mans record or 3315.21 miles at an average speed of 138.13mph, a record that was only beaten last year.

The one millionth Range Rover to be produced at the Solihull Plant – a Range Rover Autobiography in ultimate black will be auctioned to raise funds for Help for Heroes.

The one millionth Range Rover will be driven from Solihull to London by Land Rovers Managing Director Phil Popham and delivered to Jeremy Clarkson who is a Help for Heroes patron, he will receive the Range Rover on behalf of the charity.

The Range Rover being donated is the highest-specification model currently available, the Range Rover Vogue, valued in excess of £85,000. Estimates suggest it will raise over £100,000 for charity when auctioned later this year. Bryn Parry, CEO and Co-founder of Help for Heroes said “this is a real milestone in their history and so a very special donation, made even more special by knowing the money raised from the auction of the car will be able to provide much needed funds to help our wounded heroes on their road to recovery.”

We have had i-Pod, i-Phone and i-Pad, could it now be i-supercar? BMW looks set to name its new hybrid supercar the i8 when it goes on sale in 2013.

Several  sources say that the supercar, which was approved for production in November after debuting as the Vision EfficientDynamics concept at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, will carry the ‘i’ designation, along with a three cylinder 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel with two electric motors, and up to 356bhp with 590lbft of torque, put through a twin clutch sequential auto gearbox. The concept model is capable of recording combined cycle fuel consumption of 75.1mpg and CO2 emissions of 99g/km. It can also cover 31 miles in completely electric, zero-emissions, mode.

The concept revealed several technologies that BMW said would appear on future production models and one – the ‘Air Curtain’ front-end airflow concept – has since been announced on the latest 1 Series cars.

Elderly people in the US were amazed last week to find a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and the Bentley Continental GTC delivering their hot meals.

On Monday, volunteers working with the Pascack Valley, N.J., chapter of Meals on Wheels were chauffeured to the homes of elderly people in cars provided by Gotham Dream Cars, an exotic-car rental company and club with locations in Englewood, N.J., and Miami.

Event organizers hoped the partnership would raise public awareness of older people who are incapacitated or otherwise unable to leave their homes to buy food on their own.

“The support of our community is essential to combating senior hunger in the area,” said Jeanne Martin, the director of the Pascack Valley Meals on Wheels program, in a statement.

Owing to their limited trunk space, the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and Dodge Viper SRT-10 did not prove to be the most efficient means of delivering meals around Bergen County. But a Mercedes-Benz S550, a Range Rover Supercharged and a Maserati Quattroporte were also there to do the heavy lifting.
